Job Description :
To provide technical expertise, architect, build and commission IT infrastructure for mining operations, including fiber optic, wireless and process control networks for Underground mines, in order to achieve the companies’ goals and objectives.
Develop people and process to effectively support critical mining IT systems 24x7 to meet 99.95% availability SLAs.
Additional responsibilities:
1.Provide expertise, advice, and assistance to the operation and expansion teams of integrating new technology and processes in order to ensure the systems are well implemented.
2.Assist in the development of advanced and secured IT infrastructure for supporting autonomous Underground mining operations.
3.Provide advice and expertise for all relevant maintenance and technical activities including maintenance practices, procedures and system development to maximize reliability in a cost effective and safe manner
4.Analyze current business processes and identify gaps in best practices, including outline, plan, and coordinate the strategies for MIS Operations Infrastructure group, in order to improve the quality and reliability of services offered by the team.
5.Research new technologies and provide technical guidance to the MIS Operations Infrastructure team in applying these technologies to the best advantage for PTFI.
6.Identify and coordinate implementation of the most advanced and cost effective technologies to provide better performance of IT infrastructure for mining operations.
7.Provide technical and process expertise, mentoring and coaching to national staffs in order to increase their capabilities to support the new technologies in the future.
8.Conduct field audit to better understand weaknesses in the field and recommend how to improve them.
9.Coordinate with the FCX global network and process control teams to implement global initiatives and standardization.
10.Liaise with process control equipment vendors internationally on all matters of control, advising the counterpart as appropriate.
11.Maintain the productivity, reliability, and security of the IT infrastructure site wide in order to support company operation.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications
Bachelor’s (S1) Degree in Electrical, Telecommunication, Computer and/or Process Control Engineering with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the industrial environment (preferably in a large scale complex underground mining industry) with an emphasis on plant and process control maintenance.
- Strong experience in business process design, process control systems PLC/DCS, data networking, wireless communication systems and power systems.
