Incorporated on 14 April 2009, Nucleus Connect is responsible for designing, building and operating the active infrastructure of Singapore's Next Generation Nationwide Broadband Network (Next Gen NBN). It will offer comprehensive and flexible services that will help Retail Service Providers select and deliver broadband connectivity services to their target markets quickly and seamlessly, bringing a more enriching experience to the end users.
With an eye to begin commercial operations in the first half of 2010, we are looking for highly talented and passionate professionals to be part of our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and operate a brand new data centre infrastructure architecture deploying Servers, Storage and Network leveraging on Virtualization and Cloud-Computing technology
- Review and implement operational requirements and procedures for the efficient operations and availability of the system infrastructure
- Level 2/3 operations support and administration of the system infrastructure
- Unix system administration and Shell scripting for day-to-day operations
- Prepare test plan and perform functionality and performance testing
- Analyse and troubleshoot issues
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- Hands-on experience in Sun Solaris / Unix system administration, OS Hardening and performance tuning
- Sun Certified System Administration
- Hands-on experience with UNIX, PERL scripting,Veritas Netbackup setup and support
- Experience with implementing storage solutions from various vendors such as SUN, HP, EMC, HDS, NetApp, Brocade, etc
- Experience with implementing LAN, SAN, Tape backup and VTL solution
- Knowledge of clustering technology such as Sun Cluster, Veritas Cluster and Oracle database Cluster
- Knowledge of various level of virtualization technology.
- Experience in networking (e.g. load balancing, firewall, VPN) would be an added advantage
- Experience of OSS/BSS systems support & maintenance (e.g. NMS, Element Manager, CRM and Billing) would be an added advantage Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills
- Possess drive, initiative, creativity and able to work under stringent time schedules
- A good team player and highly motivated, goal-oriented individual
