Position : QA Engineer
Description -
- Determine what an appropriate set of tests would be to give the highest confidence in a Utiba product
- Determine what tests can be omitted (if any) given time constraints to maximise customer confidence in a release. This is essentially risk management.
- May determine what processes are missing and recommend inclusion.
- Consult with manager to determine time constraints and which releases may have reduced testing Challenges
- Implementing test methodologies and processes from limited documentation
- Ensuring that developers follow test methodologies correctly
- Creating and managing a test environment that reflects production environments as closely as possible
Knowledge, Skills and Expertise
- 1-2 years experience software testing in a Unix environment
- Working DB knowledge in either Oracle, PostgreSQL or Sybase
- Experience in end to end systems testing
- Proven ability to build, document and maintain test environments
- Experience in designing, documenting and implementing robust testing processes
- Experience using manual and automated testing tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Familiarity with version control and bug -tracking systems
- Working knowledge of Unix and Unix shell scripts (Preferably Linux or Solaris)
Important Skill required
- XML, Java, Perl, Ant, C, C++,
- Familiarity with HTML and SOAP.
