Overview of Business Area & Purpose of Role:      

Mitel’s Mobile Business Unit, formally Mavenir Systems, is global mobile telecoms organisation. Mitel Mobile works within the 4G, LTE and 2G/3G market place world wide

Mitel is looking for candidates who will enthusiastically develop the next generation of voice, data and messaging solutions in mobile network and related service providers. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing of a team of Pre Sales Engineers, based in various countries in Asia Pacific region. The team provides technical and commercial input to sales to influence an operator’s strategic direction. The emphasis is on supporting the winning of new business and strengthening existing business relationships by providing technical guidance to our customers. The team supports a solutions selling approach and act as evangelists for the Mitel Mobile Business Units portfolio.

The role requires an effective, results orientated, motivating people manager that is also comfortable with taking a hands on approach to technical detail. The successful candidate will manage a team of highly capable, technically apt individuals as well as providing an individual contribution to bid management, commercial proposals for new products, services and solutions, and development/ delivery of workshops and presentations. 

Duties & Responsibilities
To include, but not limited to:
  • ·         Management, coordination and tracking of APAC pre-sales activity to ensure quality of technical interface for customers and prospects prior to a sale. 
  • ·         Managing the sales team to prioritise incoming requests for support/tasks/activities from various stake holders including sales and business development
  • ·         Managing cross functional stakeholders and their expectations; this includes senior leadership, as well as functionally; system engineering, marketing, sales and business development
  • ·         Maintaining and understanding the product set and its future development by interfacing with internal and external product vendors for technology updates and product updates
  • ·         Creation and editing of technical documentation/specifications to assist with customer proposals
  • ·         End to-end ownership of customer responses
  • ·         Interfacing with customers to assist them with defining business and technical requirements; Influencing customer’s decisions about technology and products.
  • ·         Preparing and delivering technical presentations
  • ·         Representing our clients in user and technology forums whenever necessary and providing feedback to sales team.
  • ·         Capturing technology and industry trends and providing feedback to Sales and solutions team.
  • ·         Conducting high-level technology training sessions wherever necessary.
  • ·         Design, development and delivery of technical workshops for customers and prospects
  • ·         Attending industry events, providing product demonstrations and presentations.


The successful applicant must be prepared to travel around the APAC region to customer sites or other Mitel offices.  

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:  
  • ·         In depth technical knowledge of mobile IMS and Mobile Voice
  • ·         In depth technical knowledge of mobile packet and evolved packet core
  • ·         Knowledge of Circuit Switch voice and IN
  • ·         Knowledge of mobile VAS 
  • ·         Strong, demonstrable team leadership skills; ability to gain respect through technical knowledge and contribution
  • ·         Team coaching and performance management 
  • ·         Strong knowledge of the mobile telecom and service provider market 
  • ·         Good presentation skills (addressing a large, predominantly technical audience)
  • ·         Highly proficient written and spoken communication skills
  • ·         Ability to recognise and create business benefit from technology functionality
  • ·         Minimum 5 years in similar role
  • ·         Knowledge of APAC service provider market
  • ·         Self-starter with positive ‘can do’ attitude

  • ·        Ability to gain respect of the presales team for both technical knowledge and contribution to ongoing presales
  • ·         Good verbal and written communication skills, both face to face and remotely with people for whom English is not their first language
  • ·         Able to assimilate technical information quickly and apply it to a given situation

  • ·         Ability to switch from strategic planning to technical detail as and when required
  • ·         Initiative and ability to make appropriate decisions
  • ·         Able to meet tight deadlines

  • ·         Can produce thorough and accurate technical documentation
  • ·         Adaptable and flexible – a “can do” attitude

  • ·         A good awareness of other cultures
