- Responsible for participating in the design and implementation of corporate computing, data, networking and telecommunication solutions to meet changing business requirements, ensuring consistency in availability of computer and communications resources for company users, and ensuring that all networks, telecommunications, and systems within the production environment are available to users.
- Manage the Network and Telecommunications teams to ensure that customer needs are met. Collaborate with/Key Customers include all computer and telecommunications users, Senior Managers, other IS departments, and vendors.
- Provide leadership and counsel related to Network and Telecommunications teams, as well as to Senior Management.Principal AccountabilitiesNetwork and Telecommunications Solution Design and Management
- Collaborates with department members to design data communication network and telecommunications solutions to meet business challenges and requirements.
- Maintains optimum system performance and security by monitoring and evaluating computer operating systems, applications software, global communications network, and local and remote sites for both voice and data.
- Schedules and oversees the completion of planned maintenance (e.g., equipment, network, application) activities.
- Maintains a working knowledge of trends in the voice, data communications network, and computing industry.
- Maintains ownership of production documentation.
- Responsible for maintaining data communications network and telecommunication hardware and software in excellent operating condition to ensure 99% system availability.
- Collaborates with Data Network and Telecommunications teams to negotiate contract terms with vendors.
- Maintains a working knowledge of trends in the Data Communications Network and Telecommunications industry.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to JSox, PCI and internal audit findings
- Provides Customer Service Support
- Manages all Data Network and Telecommunications activities.
- Participates in the development and improvement of the standards and procedures for handling of customer calls or problems.
- Ensures that staffing level is appropriate to address user calls.
- Communicates with the user community to inform them of system outages or other issues that may affect them.
- Develops and maintains standards and processes for all Data Network and Telecommunications support activities. Ensures that IS department standards are upheld.
- Manages the development and coordination of Data Network and Telecommunications planning of the Disaster Recovery Plan and associated annual testing.Relationship Management
- Responsible for hiring, motivating, evaluating, developing group/department personnel.
- Provides coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Advises management and provides recommendations on personnel and problem issues that require escalation.
- Builds strong relationships with peers and Senior Managers to best meet company goals and objectives.
- Manages and leverages relationships with vendors for a specific product/service (best price, best product, etc).
- Maintains professional relationships with peers in other corporations and outside organizations.
- Identifies training needs (technical and non-technical) and appropriate training methods for Data Network and Telecommunications personnel.
- Directly contributes to development of tactical and annual operating plans, defining goals and objectives for the group.
REQUIREMENTS
- Very strong experience in leading the design and implementation of networking and telecommunications solutions
- Experience managing Data Network/Telecommunications hardware, software installations, configurations, upgrades and modifications to enhance the performance, capacity, integrity and compatibility of the network Strong knowledge of Network / Telecom and Windows hardware Strong knowledge of Network / Telecom and Windows technologies and all routing protocols
- Experience with network and telecom technology, including MPLS, VoIP, VPN, routing, firewalls, PBX, and ACD Experience with Windows environments including Active Directory and Windows based software solutions Proven IT governance experience, including PCI and SOX compliance Proven project management experience
- Excellent communication skills which include presentations at all levels of the organization Minimum completion of a bachelor's degree or equivalent (B.A. or B.S.)
